This coming Sunday, 10th February, 1-4 pm, Dorothy Black returns to lead a workshop 'Big Flowers' using oil, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and acrylic inks. Following an inspiring demo last year members were keen to learn from Dorothy's techniques in producing 'big flowers / plants' using a mixed media approach. In two weeks Kirkcaldy Art Club will be very busy. On Sunday 24th February Heather Gilbert, one of our tutors, will be leading a workshop in the pottery, 11am - 2 pm, 'Printing on Clay'. Meanwhile, from 2pm - 4pm, upstairs in the painting studio, Cupar based artist Vicky Coull will demonstrate her skills and techniques in 'Watercolour with texture, using mixed media'. All classes, including the children's class, are progressing well and hopefully there will be no disruption due to weather conditions. Next week, from Monday 11th to Friday 15th February, Hot Pot Wynd will be closed to traffic, 9am - 3pm, as some nearby very tall trees, near the art club, are being trimmed or cut down, also some drainage will be done. Access to Kirkcaldy Art Club will be by using the pavement.
Our Monday afternoon painting class this week were working on painting a still life of shiny objects - quite challenging!! Some people were working on their own paintings. Below are some photos of them hard at work.
