This week Kirkcaldy Art Club returned to 'normal'. Our annual exhibition took place the previous week and was very successful. Very many people visited over our Open Weekend, members bringing family and friends, people walking around Dysart, and also people from the allotments in Ravenscraig Park, children too enjoyed arty activities in the pottery and many people enjoyed coffee and tea with our famous 'home baking'. Over last week visitors were still arriving , having seen our posters in local shops, cafes and businesses. It was so interesting chatting to all these people from the USA, the Scottish borders, Manchester, Lancashire and more, all who had an interest in art, and were very complimentary about Kirkcaldy Art Club, its facilities and the wide range of art exhibited. Several people signed up for some of our summer term classes which are open to everyone - no need to become a member for these classes. The summer term classes include a six week painting course, one on a Tuesday afternoon and one on Tuesday evening. There is also a four week printing class, and a four week painting class involving painting with mixed media. There are also some spaces left in six week pottery classes. Outdoor sketching / painting is also on offer, in picturesque Falkland and Lower Largo, and also 'Art at the Harbour', near by in Dysart. A two day painting class is on offer too, a Monday and Thursday. These classes are led by our own tutors and also visiting artists. All these classes are suitable for beginners and also for those who have experience. It is a good opportunity to try out painting and pottery, as taster sessions. Further details about these classes can be found on the website, kirkcaldyartclub.co.uk and you can see Kirkcaldy Art Club on our Facebook page. If you want any more information about these classes this is available from Morag Allan on 01592 267641.
